Alduin awoke due to the influx of magicka during the oblivion crisis, meaning the empire now has to deal with both flying gods of destruction, and the oblivion gates popping up everywhere. Fortunately, or unfortunately, they have you. |

| The Colovian Highlands are Cyrodiil's second floor. They lie in the far northwest of the country, overlooking the West Weald and the Imperial Forest. They serve as the rugged frontier between Cyrodiil and Hammerfell.
The Highlands are the desolate western foothills of the Jerall Mountains. North-south travel is often impossible due to the sheer sides of the Highlands. The foliage and color is similar to the Gold Coast, with evergreen trees, ferns, and yellow-green grasses between islands of gray rock. The Highlands are among the sparser regions in the country, both in terms of vegetation and dungeons. There are at least two small lakes; one has a waterfall and the other a small dock with a canoe.
The city of Chorrol is nestled in the lower foothills of the Highlands, though it lies within the Great Forest. The Black Road runs past Chorrol and is the only road that broaches the region. Access to most of the ruins and other points of interest is usually by foot on trails or through the thick grass and shrubs of the region. The Gold Road is the main thoroughfair of the area, several locations including "Gottshaw Inn", "Brina Cross Inn and "Hrota Cave" run alongside it. The major city in the Gold Coast is the port city of Anvil. Anvil | 0 | 0 | | | The Jerall Mountains are the highest mountains in the Province of Cyrodiil, and straddle most of the northern border. The province of Skyrim lies on other side of the range and in many ways this is Nord territory.
Perhaps the most rugged region in Cyrodiil, the Mountains are snow-covered and there is little vegetation on the ground. They are very steep and travel is mostly by path only, especially near the border with the Highlands. One path leads from a clearing west of Sancre Tor, climbs across the back of the ridge to Hermaeus Mora's Shrine, then switchbacks down the south side to Echo Cave. Farther east, the mountains are more temperate, and a valley runs from Applewatch to Bruma. Another path runs north from the Orange Road and branches out to Bruma and Applewatch. Bruma | 0 | 0 | | | The Nibenay Valley is the name given to the central lowlands along Niben River south of the Imperial City but north of Blackwood. The Valley is a fairly small region, occupying a swath on both sides of the Niben, but hemmed in by the Nibenay Basin, the Great Forest, and the Heartlands. The Valley proper begins along the Silverfish River and out to Niben Bay, then south to the lower Panther River. It stretches west past Bravil to the Larsius River where it brushes against the Great Forest. A high ridge between the Valley and Lake Canulus marks the eastern border. Bravil | 0 | 0 | | | The West Weald is a sunny, lightly forested region occupying a crescent-shaped arc southwest of the Imperial City, and acting as the northern border for the provinces of Elsweyr and Valenwood. This verdant region is notable for its wide-open and purple-flowered meadows, distinctive red maple trees, and rich agriculture. Skingrad | 0 | 0 | | | They span the eastern part of Cyrodiil as well as the western part of Morrowind, thus forming the border between the two provinces. In Cyrodiil, the mountain range is called the Valus Mountains, however, this is basically the same mountain range. There are some roads that go through these mountains but most travel is done on rivers or through the Black Marsh, another province of Tamriel, which lies southeast of Cyrodiil and south of Morrowind.
